Thank goodness for freeness...thank extra goodness for a free weekly fashion and style magazine. I've got my hands on the 2nd issue with the Kate Moss cover and I have to say Shortlist Media you have done well my friend, pat on the back to you....what a lovely heady magazine, much like Style (The Sunday Times accompaniment), grounded and somewhat cultural...some would call it a professional stylist, even an elder sister to the glossy mags you'll find in the news agent. Mind you it has a great cast behind it; backers include the film producer Matthew Vaughn and the French Connection founder Stephen Marks, it's published by Glenda Marchant - the former ad director of IPC's women's glossy
InStyle and is edited by Lisa Smosarski, the former editor of Bauer’s
More! magazine. No surprises, but more great expectations. I've seen some other covers and I suspect I'll have to include the Stylist in my magazine collection.
Now for the science bit (logistics rather):
Stylist will have an initial print run of 400,000 copies a week and will be distributed by street vendors every Wednesday at major commuter stations in London, Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds, Edinburgh and Glasgow. I can see women flocking to them - 'Here comes the girls' song comes to mind.
However, if you're not able to get a copy or you get trampled on in your race to get one, then fear not you can read it online at:
www.stylist.co.uk....where you will be met with titillating images you'd love to right click and save, but unfortunately you can't, what great woe.
