Show Post: Workboots, Aran Jumpers and ICONS

WORKBOOTS

The more I see them the more I think about them and we all know what happens with things we can't stop thinking about. Think SWF and the slow mental invasion of the workers boots: a steady runner with soles dancing always in my mind. I'm without complaint mind you, I would rather talk about these shoe lumps than a discussion on leggings...again! Anyday! I thought Urban Outfitters had the best pair but that title has been totally denied, Free People's studded boots took that medal. Oui, further a field, transatlantic in the US of A is the Free People's studded work boot though they will set you back £238.67!

THE ARAN JUMPER
Everyone's talking sex and jumpers...how to beat the cold with cosy clothing. So, I'm finding at an arduous task to talk about anything else. Tis the season they keep whispering in my ear. Stuck in the middle talking jumpers and cardigans and the many variables (oversized, glittered, frayed et al) but in these times I like to keep it classic since trends are fads and styles eternal...classic is the only option. The much overlooked Aran jumper is beautiful and for me this winter's must have. The beautifully knitted trench coat of jumpers and cardigans.

Go to Wool Lovers for your very own.

ICONS

If I were to eat a cupcake everytime I saw or heard the words Ga, Lady and Rihanna I'd have three stomachs, three chins, two small people as legs, arms as thick as thieves and be inches from combustion. Make media stop. It's not that I don't like them or appreciate them visually. The contrary, I would have them for tea in a second. It's their barage that's criminal, their constant mention in media vacuums, like a neat freak, the world of other style icons and style itself (*no other style but Ga and Ri seems to make it mainstream) cleaning the masses of a clear sense of apparel direction. Actually, I'm starting to think the talks of Ga's vagina void and Ri's pro beat down are guerrillas in the mist fighting for a democratic style, hoping to conquer the improper coverage of style along with  their tyrannical presence in fashion. I can just picture robbed fashionistas with black, brown and green face paint, leafs stylishly arranged in a baroque manner over leather pants with studs and black sequinned tee shirts...I digress. The point, stop trying Ga's and Ri's style, just  think of the millions trying this fete. and remind yourself always

Red Riding

Oui oui oui Me Me got new boots and has worn them three days in a row. So what? I'm the new Pocahontas only I'm African with shorter hair, darker skin and an English tongue. Oui, I do have a cow skin pouch that she would have probably made from a live cow (I got mine in Thailand), sure, but I have a red scooter that matches my red dress and I've moved up the Disney scale to a contemporary little red riding hood (I mean dress). How superficial do I sound? Guy in the back says 'extremely'. I stick out my tongue to him. BUT, I must confess I don't and never have owned a scooter, let alone this one. Just the red dress...You see, I'm simply guilty of seeing a red scooter and jumping on it to take pictures! I'm amused to think what the owner would do knowing I was all on his or her beauty of a scooty, spreading myself like Pocahontas (with a twist) jam to take pictures and making my boss the photographer. In fact, I'm more than amused, I deserve an ASBO!
