CRASH, BANG, WOLLOP

Scream

I was rudely awakened by a blow to the head, temporary paralysis then paralytic pain. Shocked to even write it, I was that girl in the neck brace and oversized sponge ear guards strapped to a stretcher, being served to an ambulance on a very sunny saturday. Might I add how beautiful the sky was that day even amoung the chaos. Yes, I was her, you know, the girl you'd start creeping by to look more closely at. Because that curious monkey inside you caught sight of an accident and he just would not keep still unless you drove by at 5mph or walked with your head fixed in my direction to take in as much information. Hand goes up when the question 'ever been the roadside attraction?' is asked. Then at the hospital the sweet nurse herself was apologetic about what she had to do.  Yes, at the time when I thought something was broken I welcomed the nurses scissors to cut apart my most fav Merci Me jacket. Now, weeks past I'm left with this...

KMT. Yes, I know, I know, it really was life or death blah blah blah. But really? Old clothes and disposable slippers to go home in? So I thought hmm from the rubble why not make a house? Stitch here, attach some new design feature there, add a little here. Think technical ergonomic presentation. Then I just thought (between nearly being broken in half and admitting I could have been broken in half) how such a near miss was Gods way of sending a message I was clearly deaf, blind and utterly stupid to..."I'll take it away if your not using it properly dear, just thought I'd remind you my love" thats what i'd imagine he would say. So I've decided to keep my cut up jacket the way it is for reminders sake. Plenty more where it came from anyway.

Nataliemay
Last saturday saw Natalie May (singer/songwriter) at the BANG Radio's studio, who came in to do an interview on the show. Me and my limitless-ness saw me infringe on her personal space and start undressing her....for the show of course. I say undressing, I mean moving her jacket out of the way. It sounds more exciting than it actually was. In fact, I was describing her outfit for the listeners and I "helped' her open her jacket so I can further describe her blouse. The men in the studio on the other hand extended reality with their own fantasy, I could see it in their eyes and the which way they popped. Besides, any tactile movement in the boob area is enough to ring off some alarm in their head.

It got me thinking though about my audacity to cringe when someone I don't know (or sometimes know) touches my bare skin or getsclose enough for me to see their pores and then I go and open someones jacket with no pre caution or permit. This apparently is why Blaze (my co-host) loves me - my lack of boundaries. But, a lesson, if you'd like one, from this is the consideration of yourself in a wider context: consider the things others do onto you with the things you do onto others in mind. Isn't it selfish to do what you want and not allow others the same privilege? Something I need to think about obviously.

In another vein, as we get to the main point, I loved her outfit...anyone who can wear leather shorts, 11 am, and look effortless wearing them, then sings perfectly with a recording voice live gets my vote. Plus her lip gloss never faded through her interview, singing or my infringement - how?  Did I say she has an AMAZING voice? You may have heard Rudimental's Sexy Sexy - that was her. She is now releasing a new single 'Closer' - romantic dubstep, see below - AND she has founded a charity. This girl is a benchmark and a one to watch! And I have to say she was cool about the whole lifting/opening jacket thing.

Me in Merci Me

Friday night saw my friends F**K Fashion Party in Maya (Fashionaires - their work is amazing) I just had to wear something of my own especially seeing that it's London Fashion Week. So, with a sartorial knife, I took a stab at Graphic hype and just threw as many bright colours into my ensemble. This my friends is probably the easiest trend to acquire since it leaves little for thinking and matching and rather expects you to haphazardly and spontaneously dash in loads of colours. Me thinks my laziness will expect this look more.

Lucky my last collection was mainly bold brights so the skirt of course is Merci Me (high waisted mini). Which by the way Merci Me will be stocking for the foreseeable future, especially since I believe it's an awfully terrible thing not to own a high waisted miniskirt in as many colours as possible. For this, each season there'll be a few colours (the amount is likely to change since it all depends on the season, the terrible fickleness of fashion) and of course there'll be a range of lengths: super mini - like the one I'm adorning, a midi mini: the middle of the thighs and a pencil: kissing the bottom part of your knee and fondling your shins. Even maybe a midi...but stay tuned.

It's also probably an opportune time to mention Merci Me will be bringing you exclusive vintage - everything from clothes to crockery (something's beautiful this way comes). The jacket and shirt is VTG @ Merci Me. That beautiful ring that you see on my hands is the Merci Me Pyramid Treasure ring, might I also add that Merci Me will have some unforgiving bold rings too. The bag, well, it's a find from my overseas travels and the shoes be Zara. The bun and Barry M's yellow nail lacquer was for good measure.

Too Fur?

Reactionstorabbit

You may or may not know that I'm in the business of wearing rabbit fur. HARK I hear somewhere from the mouth of a judgemental bunny lover... I realise this is a controversial topic but hey it's life, and yes I own a rabbit fur jacket, a rabbit fur hat and a rabbit fur bag. And whenever I'm in the business of wearing them I get the strangest of reactions:

1. Some oddly believe I'm wearing a live rabbit and fret to touch me. They call me cruella de ville or the girl that killed thumper or murderer or yuck. They tend not to be vegetariens or activiists, sometimes don't even own a pet and may even secretly hate animals but they fret and wince. They jump when you tell them

A place to go and people to meet

Noir
Sdyohans
Is where I'll be today...and considering the line up i'm darkly excited! I've not managed to get to Somerset House this year...missing the outdoor cinema and any other event I'd planned to attend there but I'll rubbish that record by going to 'Noir' today, organised by Untold. And it's just as well that the Matthew Williamson Exhibition begins today also, songs of seduction to my ears! What with the film screenings, exhibitions, guest speaker (Little Miss Jocelyn being one of them) and the fashion shows (see pictures below)....oh the fashion shows! I would break out in sweet french if I could speak it probably. My personal favourite Ituen Basi, Beatrice Newman, Debonair Debonair, Mong Hsuan only to name a few. And of course there's always the mingle option at the end! Oh I must. I will. I do hope you can make it also. Tickets are still available (for just £6) at the door.

C'est Cheap et Chic

M

...is for Me Me. C'est tres chic. The cute couple at Alphabet Bag have clearly realised the narcissistic need to tell the world our name (or in this case part of it) by making these simple yet bold alphabet bags. It is an extremely cute example of "the little nice things make all the difference" and it'll have many wondering, either for it's meaning or your name. It'll add a certain 'je ne sais quoi' to an average outfit and for 10 Great British Pounds it's hard to not purchase one. *I'm also wanting the 'stag' and 'ampersand'.
